Jacqueline Tse

Porcelain Artist

I channeled my love-hate relationship with sugar into intricate porcelain sculptures of hand-built and slip-casted cookies, cakes, ice creams and fetus skulls. Bare white and unglazed bone-like surfaces are meant to be evocative and peaceful at the same time — an ode to my obsessive and indulgent nature, love of pastry arts, frustration, and ultimately, acceptance of sugar addiction.
