Collection: Death by Sugar Sculptures

In this body of work titled “Death by Sugar,” I channeled my love/hate relationship with sugar into a series of intricate porcelain sculptures with an irresistibly perturbing charm through combining a variety of sculpting techniques. Resulting in a surreal dimension where sugar and fetus skulls are remixed into a delicate bittersweet pop narrative. White is the color of death in Chinese culture, and my work is about the peace I have made towards my sugar addiction. The bare bone-like surfaces are meant to be evocative and peaceful at the same time.
